Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

CBT Center of Boston does not directly bill insurance. We are a private pay practice, however we will provide you with a monthly superbill for your therapy services. This superbill can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. Many PPO plans cover a portion of session fees for out-of-network providers. Billing codes that are commonly used for treatment include 90791, 90834, 90853, and 90837. You may contact your insurance company ahead of time to inquire about reimbursement.

What is the difference between a clinical psychologist and other therapists?

A clinical psychologist has a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, and is a clinician or researcher trained to both diagnose and treat mental health conditions. Clinical psychologists are required to spend approximately 6 years in graduate school, 1 year in a pre-doctoral internship, and at least 1 year in a postdoctoral fellowship. Clinical psychologists with a Ph.D. are also required to demonstrate a high level of mastery in clinical research.

Do you offer sessions via telehealth?

Yes! All sessions at this time are via telehealth due to COVID-19, however telehealth services will always be available via HIPAA-compliant videoconferencing platforms on SimplePractice and Zoom. We offer telehealth services to individuals in both Massachusetts and California.
